That afternoon, an owl spent a long time perched on the window of the Infectious Diseases Laboratory’s second-floor corridor. Owls are known as nocturnal animals. That day, it appeared outside of its normal business hours. It stood still behind the window glass, as if waiting for someone, perhaps to be photographed or examined. Its gaze was calm. Its appearance was really unusual. COVID-19 was still spreading around the world, and human activity had slowed except for laboratory staff. That day, the owl became a source of comfort and a beautiful sight for the lab staff who witnessed it.
